So you want to get more traffic to your website? There are two main ways of doing this;
•    Paid Advertising
•    Free Advertising
 

The one I'm going to focus on in this guide is the Free Advertising. The reason for this is that I personally believe that free advertising is a much more reliable and long term source of targeted traffic to your website.
If you drive targeted traffic to your website, you'll see much higher conversion rates in your visitors. In other words more people will buy from your website or sign up to your mailing list if you drive targeted visitors to you website.
 

Long term advertising
The methods that I'm going to mention below will all bring traffic to your website long-term. You won't get a surge of traffic that disappears overnight. You'll still see visitors in years to come!

Writing Articles
It may sound like a really boring task! But article marketing is still one of the most effective online marketing techniques. You probably don't warm to the task of writing articles - but it needn't be boring...
Write about what you enjoy or what you're knowledgeable about. Set yourself as the expert in your niche. Obviously, keep the article related to what your website is about - this makes sure you get targeted visitors to your site.
 

There's no need to go mad writing pages and pages. Aim for about 400 - 600 words per article. That's barely a single page of A4! What's more is that you're not writing like a book - you're breaking up the page to make it easier for the reader.
 

Much like the article you're reading right now! Each paragraph has only a few sentences. There are headings in bold to break up the page and bullet points always help the reader too!
 

The most important key to article marketing is: make your articles interesting, make them fun and leave your readers wanting more... then add a link to your website in your author's resource box!
 

Forum Signatures
Participating on forums that are related to your website is another great long-term way of attracting new visitors.
 

Don't SPAM! Join in the debates, help other that need advice. In every post you make to a forum make sure you include just one link to your website in your signature. Add a call to action; offer a free gift to entice people to click on the link.
